Atkins Diet : How It Works?
Atkins diet work by restricting carbohydrate intake. This
would lower the body's stored carbohydrate (glycogen), thus causing
ketosis. During ketosis, the body would burn up fat
and resulted in weight loss.
Atkins diet plan near zero carbohydrate content is also geared
towards diminishing excessive insulin response that cause
overweight. Carbohydrate when taken in excessive stimulates
the overproduction of insulin which convert glucose into fat and
prevent the breakdown of fat in the body. .Atkins diet plan
with low carb help to prevent the overproduction of insulin thus
resulted in healthier and slimmer body.

plan can generally be divided in to 4
phases.

Atkins Diet Phase 1
Atkins
diet phase 1 is call the induction phase, which last
for 14 days and place restriction on particular foods for the body to trigger
ketoses. During this 14 days your consumption of carbohydrates is
restricted to below 20 grams a day. During this phase of atkins diet your body is taught to burn fate instead of
carbohydrates. Weight loss during this phase of is usually
very drastic.

phase 1 - Induction Phase.
Atkins Diet Phase 2
Atkins diet phase 2 is called the ongoing weight loss
phase where
you add
carbohydrate, in the form of nutrient-dense and fibre-rich foods, by increasing
to 25 grams daily the first week, 30 grams daily the next week and so on
until your weight loss stops. Then subtract 5 grams of carbohydrate from
your daily intake so that you continue sustained, moderate weight loss.
Atkins Diet Phase 3
Phase 3 of atkins diet is called
Pre-Maintenance, the objective during this phase
is to make the transition from weight loss to weight maintenance by
increasing the daily carbohydrate intake in 10-gram increments each week
so long as very gradual weight loss is maintained.
Atkins Diet Phase 4
The final phase
of atkins diet plan is the maintenance phase. This phase of is designed
to maintain your target weight. Dieters following atkins diet are
encouraged to stick with the fourth phase of atkins diet for life, to remain healthy and
avoid gaining weight. Included here is a list of food that you are
